I have found that for every positive parenting book I stumble upon, there tend to be at least ten negative books. I want to be inspired and encouraged through the rough days and moments of motherhood, not made to feel like I am one of the only people out there who actually enjoys my children.
Although I don’t see as many people specifically writing books about hating their marriages, I do notice that a lot of books and movies/TV shows portray marriage as a generally frustrating thing that people should probably avoid. I have sadly even stumbled upon quite a few Christian marriage books with a great message dripping in reminders about how hard marriage can sometimes be.
Although I’ve read plenty of books with negative undertones, I’ve also found quite a few great gems here and there. These are a few of my favorite positive marriage/parenthood books
MoneySavingMom.com (also a great outlook on marriage and parenting)
The Vow (movie spins an entirely different outlook and ending, I prefer the book)
